Explanation
In addition to its many advantages, Turbidex mineral is generally used as a filter media for suspended solids removal. Its angular structure and uneven surface offer a high filtration area and thus have a filtration sensitivity of up to 20 – 40 microns. The need for backwashing is low and therefore long filtration times are provided. Thanks to its large and uneven surface, the formation of filter cake in the top layer of the classic filter sand is prevented and longer filtration times are achieved. Although it is not an iron removal mineral, oxidized iron in raw water can be retained due to the structure of Turbidex. The pre-oxidation process can roughly be aeration, ozonation or chlorination.
